Irene Jeannette Wolfe was born on November 17, 1925 in McCook, Nebraska. Her parents were William J. Wolfe and Elizabeth Louise Gerald. Her paternal grandparents were Adam Wolfe and Virginia Polk and her maternal grandparents were Adolph Gerold and Elizabeth Hultz. As far as we know, all of her grandparents were born in Germany and came to this country in the latter 1800's. She had two older brothers Richard Adolph and Gerald Jack (now deceased) and an older sister who died shortly after birth. She married Charles Ellwood Cowell, Jr. on June 1, 1946 and together they had four children: Allan Blaine, Charlene Jeannette, Randall Wayne, and Diane Annette. She also has nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
