Mom

Irene Jeannette Wolfe Cowell

This is a short memorial page to my mother, Irene Jeannette Wolfe Cowell.  She was born on November 17, 1925 in McCook, NE and passed away on Februrary 19, 2022 in Valdosta, GA.  She married my father (Charles Ellwood Cowell, Jr.) on June 1, 1946.  They were happily married for 62 years until my father passed away in 2008.  To date she has 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.  She saw many many changes during her life.  We miss her greatly, but are comforted in knowing that now she is resting in eternal peace with my father.  A short biography of her life (with many photos) along with family trees and other information is available at the C&W History Project.

Some of the last pictures of her.

She was inurned June 1, 2022 at the First United Methodest Church Columbarium in Bartlesville OK.  Almost the entire family attended her memorial service.  Granddaughter Danielle (a Methodist minister) officiated.  It was my parents wishes to have their ashes combined when they both had passed on.  My brother Randy made a beautiful wooden box for this.  The service was very pleasant and it's good to know that now my mother and father rest together in eternal peace.

<<The day before the service we gathered together to chat, reminisce, play cards and other games, eat, and swap momentos.
