The Eagle has Landed!

<<For the first time ever, this year we spotted bald eagles on our property.>>

<<They really seem to love well seasoned armadillo!

More ferocious wildlife!>>

The Babies -- Class of 2021

Once again, this spring we got baby chickens.  Welcome to Mona, Myrtle, and Molly.

<<Trish cooing over the new arrivals.

You can almost see them grow before your very eyes!>>

<<You can tell what they're thinking, "Let us out of here!"

Birds-eye view of the birds.>>

<<All grown up. No longer babies but still being shamelessly mollycoddled.

Trish's reward.>>

Geese and Goslings and Meandering Migrations

<<Mother Goose, barely visible, nesting in the middle of Red Bud Island.

A few weeks later, the Family Goose out for a pleasant springtime stroll.>>

Once the goslings hatch, within a day or two, the family migrates overland to a larger pond and we never see them again.  Except this year.  They left, and for whatever reason, came back.  Left again, and came back.  Not sure how many times.  Finally, one day they were gone for good.

<<First migration, goslings well hidden in the tall grass.

Can't remember if this was another migration or just an outing looking for something fun to eat.>>
